Ahmad Nizam

F&B owner · Puchong

"I came in thinking my problem was pricing. Zulaikha helped me see it was actually a staffing pattern issue. The Hands-On Review gave me a clear written summary — I've read it four times. Something that simple shouldn't have taken me two years to figure out."

"The Shaping Advisory took longer than I expected — not because of them, but because I kept putting off sending documents. Faizal was patient about it. The plan we ended up with was shorter than I expected, which was actually a good thing. I've started acting on two points already."

"I was sceptical — I've talked to consultants before who just told me things I already knew, but dressed them up in fancy terms. This was different. They asked good questions, didn't judge anything, and the suggestions were things I could actually do this month."

"I was moving from home baking to renting a commercial kitchen and felt completely lost about whether the numbers made sense. One session with Zulaikha helped me see which month would be most painful and how to prepare for it. We're now six months in and it's going steadily."

"I've been on the Workshop Programme for about five months now. The monthly sessions have helped me slow down and think before reacting to problems. I still occasionally wish advice were faster — but I've learned that slower decisions are usually better ones."

"What I appreciated most was that they spoke in Bahasa Malaysia without me needing to ask. It made the whole session feel natural and easy. The written summary was in both languages, which was a thoughtful touch. I'd recommend them to any owner who prefers to think in BM."

F&B sector Shaping Advisory 3-week engagement

A café owner preparing to open a second outlet

The Situation

The first outlet had been trading well for three years. The owner had found a suitable second location and wanted to move quickly, but felt uncertain about whether the first outlet's cash flow was stable enough to support the expansion costs.

What We Did

In two sessions we reviewed the first outlet's cost structure in detail and identified two recurring monthly expenses that could be reduced without affecting quality. We also mapped out a timeline for the expansion that built in a three-month buffer before the second outlet was expected to break even.

Six Months Later

The second outlet opened on schedule and reached break-even in month four — one month ahead of the timeline we'd planned. The owner reported that having a written plan made it easier to stay calm when the early weeks were slower than expected.

"Having a piece of paper that said 'month three will probably look like this' made all the difference when month three actually looked exactly like that."
Retail Whole Workshop Programme 6-month engagement

A gift shop owner managing a family succession

The Situation

The founder was in her late fifties and wanted to gradually hand over the business to her daughter. The two had different views on pricing and stock selection, and the handover process had become a source of tension at home and in the shop.

What We Did

Monthly sessions covered different aspects of the business each time — inventory, pricing, customer relationships, and team management. We helped both owner and successor articulate their priorities clearly, and facilitated a few direct conversations about the handover timeline that the two had been avoiding.

Where Things Stand

After six months, the daughter took over day-to-day operations. The founder remains involved in buying decisions one day a week. Both described the arrangement as calmer than they'd expected. The business has held its customer base through the transition.

"We needed someone neutral. Wawasan gave us a quiet space to sort out what we actually thought, without the emotions getting in the way."
